It’s a Buzzy Life

DSC_0946

Visitor or new resident moving in?

We aren’t sure yet, but we spotted a nice young buzzard carefully eyeing the meadows. We hope he or she stays, adding to the general appeal of the area while helping to keep the rodents population in check.

  1. Looks like a kestrel rather than a buzzard to me. But there have been both a buzzard and a red-kite in the immediate area very recently so who knows what to expect next…

    • I thought it was too big for a Kestrel but am not an expert. We’ve seen Kestrels before though.
Buzzards are so abundant where we grew up that we tend to call every bird of prey a Buzzard – “back home,” there’s a good chance you’d be right!
