Clearing Work Day
Saturday October 31, 10:30 – 15:30
in St. Margaret’s Open Space by the canal next to Green Lane [click for map]. Wear suitable clothes, sensible shoes, bring gloves and a snack for lunch.
Ealing Council Park Rangers will provide tools, guide and overlook our activity. We will be cutting and removing overgrowth and some self-seeded trees, and construct wildlife habitat improvements such as dead hedges and log piles (all great for beetles, birds, insects, reptiles and hedgehogs). This activity prepares the site for planting of fruit trees for a small community orchard in early 2016.
Please join us if you can, and help us transform the Grand Union canal corridor and surroundings into a string of community orchards for wildlife and humans to enjoy.
