Scything is a highly efficient method of cutting back vegetation with minimum impact on wildlife and the environment, and with rather pleasant noise. Its great fun, relaxing, and a fantastic exercise, too!
Please note this is not a free event. A cash fee of £25 per person will be payable there and then.
Wear suitable clothes, bring water and a pack lunch. You’re welcome to bring your own scythe if you have one. All tools will be provided for those who don’t. [map]
To register, please contact Ealing park ranger Jonathan Staples by email or phone 07525 893 527.
(Our thanks, as ever, to Steve “the video man” Haskett.)
