Saturday 17-Sept-2016, 10:00-16:00
Scything is a highly efficient method of cutting back vegetation with minimum impact on wildlife and the environment, and with rather pleasant noise. Its great fun, relaxing, and a fantastic exercise, too! Learn how to set up the scythe, chose the right blade for the job, make it and keep it sharp, and learn the right technique and stance.
Please note this is not a free event. A cash fee of £25 per person will be payable there and then. Wear suitable clothes, bring water and a pack lunch. You’re welcome to bring your own scythe if you have one. All tools will be provided for those who don’t. [map]
To register, please contact Ealing park ranger Jonathan Staples by email or phone 07525 893 527.
This event is organised in collaboration with Ealing park ranger services and the Friends of Horsenden Hill.
